Revenue & SDI

This dataset answers the question: How sustainable are the activities of a given company?.

It is built in stages, and the tables mirror those stages:

  1. Reported segments — companies disclose revenue by business segment. Each segment is mapped to an activity in the Net Purpose taxonomy. Result: entity_segment_revenue.
  2. Framework revenue — segment revenue is combined with other origins (And estimated revenue when this is available) and aggregated per taxon to give one best-available revenue figure per entity, taxon and year. Result: entity_taxonomy_revenue.
  3. SDI intelligence — the SDI (Sustainable Development Investments) ruleset is applied on top: certain entities operating in specific segments get an additional outcomes based assessment of their revenue activities. This is given by the sdi_classification_type on entities.
  4. These revenue and outcomes led assessments are then compared against key thresholds to determine the overall SDI classification of the entity: Majority SDI, Decisive SDI, etc.
